Overview
The former Benedictine abbey of Wiblingen near Ulm, founded in 1093, completed its famous rococo library hall in 1744. Stucco and ceiling frescoes by Franz Martin Kuen frame illusionary architecture, and statues personifying the sciences line the galleries. Thousands of volumes remain in the hall, and the abbey buildings today host university facilities.
