Overview

Railroad magnate Henry E. Huntington assembled one of the great collections of Anglo American civilization and endowed it with his estate in 1919. The library displays the Ellesmere Chaucer manuscript and a Gutenberg Bible beside 120 acres of famous gardens, and scholars use millions of manuscripts spanning medieval times to the American West.
