Overview
Home to the largest monastic library hall in the world, the Benedictine abbey of Admont was founded in 1074. The 1776 chamber by Josef Hueber runs 70 meters through seven domed bays lit by 48 windows, frescoed by Bartolomeo Altomonte. Around 70,000 volumes line the hall, part of some 200,000 owned by the community.
