Overview
Founded in 1892 as the Bnai Brith library in Jerusalem, the National Library of Israel collects copies of everything published in the country and Jewish publications worldwide. Its new building near the Knesset, opened in 2023, displays treasures such as autograph manuscripts of Maimonides and the personal libraries of Gershom Scholem and other scholars of Judaism.
